X007-ISRAEL DESTROZOS POR BOMBARDEOS NOCHE
STORY: Burnt vehicles lined the streets of Holon, near Tel Aviv, on Wednesday (March 18) following an overnight missile attack by Iran, with local residents describing sounds of explosions and scenes of fire but no injuries reported, according to Israeli emergency services.
"There was an alarm, we went into the shelter, we heard a crazy boom," local resident Palteal Leah told Reuters. "When we were allowed to come out, we went to the balcony as there was the smell of fire. We saw fire, we went downstairs, we saw that everything here was blown up."
Firefighters and emergency crews worked to contain the damage early Wednesday, with residents surveying the aftermath from balconies as officers inspected charred vehicles along debris-strewn streets.
Iran targeted Tel Aviv with missiles carrying cluster warheads in what it said was retaliation for Israel's assassination of Iran's security chief Ali Larijani, Iranian state television reported on Wednesday.
The attack overnight on Tuesday (March 17) killed two people in a neighbourhood close to the densely populated Tel Aviv, where there are also key military facilities, bringing the death toll in Israel from the war to at least 14.
A statement by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps read on state TV said weapons used included Khorramshahr 4 and Qadr missiles, both with multi-warheads.
