Units of U.S. energy firms Crossover Energy and Hunt Oil Company signed preliminary agreements on Thursday (April 30) with Venezuela's government, officials said at an event broadcast by state TV, part of interim President Delcy Rodriguez's efforts to encourage investment in the country.

The agreements could lead the firms to participate in oil and gas production in Anaco, Monagas and Barinas, among the country's main output areas, Rodriguez said.
