STORY: The tourist office of the French city of Lyon was set on fire on Saturday (October 17) during nationwide protests over the rising cost of living, video from the French television network BFMTV showed.

Police fired tear gas and clashed with protesters in several cities across France on one of the most violent days of protest in years in the country, as demonstrations against rising costs and declining public services drew thousands onto the streets.
