Iranian news websites said early on Wednesday (June 18) that Israel was attacking Iran’s Khojir missile production facility, the same site that it targeted in October.

Social media footage showed a plume of smoke in the direction of the facility.

Reuters was able to verify the location by terrain, nearby building and trees that matched file, topography and satellite images. Smoke seen in the video is coming from the direction of the Khojir facility. The location of the Khojir facility was confirmed by corroborating satellite imagery of the complex from July 2024 that was then assessed by researchers and confirmed by Iranian officials.

The date has been verified by the confirmation from the Israeli military that they were conducting strikes in the area of Tehran and by Iranian media reported of strikes near the Khojir facility on Wednesday. NASA’s FIRMS (NASA’s global fire tracking map) detected thermal activity in the area of Khojir facility on Wednesday.
