2. (SOUNDBITE) (ENGLISH) U.S. PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP SAYING:

"You know, snakes are fast, but alligators are — we're going to teach them how to run away from an alligator, okay, if they escape prison - how to runaway. Don't run in a straight line. Run like this. (makes zig-zag motion) And you know what? Your chances go up about 1 percent, okay? It's not a good thing."

6. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT, DONALD TRUMP, IN EXCHANGE WITH JOURNALIST

JOURNALIST ASKING (OFF CAMERA): "Is this (migrant detention center) the model going forward, Mr. President?"

TRUMP: "It can be. I mean, you don't always have land so beautiful and so secure. You have a lot of bodyguards and a lot of cops that are in the form of alligators, you don't have to pay them so much. But I wouldn't want to run through the Everglades for long. We'll keep people where they're supposed to be. This is a very important thing."

7. WHITE FLASH

8. (SOUNDBITE) (English) FLORIDA GOVERNOR, RON DESANTIS, SAYING:

"We've got very red states that should be doing this just as much as Florida is doing that will increase their numbers. And then what happens is you have a lot of people that will deport on their own because they don't want to end up in an 'Alligator Alcatraz' or some of those other places. So I think this is a model, but we need other states to step up."

Trump and other officials toured the facility that sits some 37 miles (60 km) from Miami in a vast subtropical wetland. The complex in southern Florida at the Dade Collier Training and Transition Airport is estimated to cost $450 million annually and could house some 5,000 people, officials estimate. 10. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. SECRETARY OF HOMELAND SECURITY KRISTI NOEM, SAYING:

REPORTER (OFF CAMERA): ''CNN yesterday pushed an app that lets you track where ICE agents are (unintelligible) saying that perhaps CNN should be prosecuted for that. What's your response?''

''Yeah, we're working with the Department of Justice to see if we can prosecute them for that, because what they're doing is actively encouraging people to avoid the law enforcement, activities, operations, and we're going to actually go after them and prosecute them for the partnership of families, because what they're doing really is illegal.''

13. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP, SAYING:

REPORTER (OFF CAMERA): ''What's your message to Governor Gavin Newsom inside of this facility.''

''Well, the first thing he should do is come here and learn something because they don't do this. They wouldn't know where to begin. And if they did it, it would cost them a hundred times more. So I would say he should call the governor and Kristi, and I'm sure you'f give him, cause his state is a disaster.''

17. U.S. PRESIDENT, DONALD TRUMP, ENTERING ROOM, TAKING A SEAT

18. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT, DONALD TRUMP, SAYING:

"And it's a great honor to be deep in Florida. The Florida Everglades to open America's newest migrant detention center is incredibly built. And you're seeing that yourself. That's why I said let the press join us on our walk so they can see what's happening. It's known as 'Alligator Alcatraz,' which is very appropriate because I looked outside and that's not a place I want to go hiking anytime soon. But very soon this facility will have some of the most menacing migrants, some of the most vicious people on the planet. We're surrounded by miles of treacherous swamp land, and the only way out is really deportation. And a lot of these people are self deporting back to their country where they came from."

19. TRUMP SITTING WITH OFFICIAL DURING ROUND TABLE

20. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT, DONALD TRUMP, SAYING:

"And I want to express my tremendous thanks to the state of Florida for embracing this opportunity and being a true partner. They work so well with the federal government. It's been a just a beautiful, beautiful partnership. So, Ron, I'd like to thank you personally, my friend. And you'll always be my friend. And we may have some skirmishes even in the future. I doubt it. But I will always come back because we just seem to we have blood that seems to match pretty well. We have. We have a relationship that's been a very strong one for a long period of time, and I appreciate it, very much appreciate it."

21. TRUMP AND OFFICIALS DURING ROUND TABLE

22. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. SECRETARY OF HOMELAND SECURITY, KRISTI NOEM, SAYING:

"And because those liberals and I'm calling out you CNN, I am calling you out because you lie every single day about what these operations are. We are going after murderers and rapists and traffickers and drug dealers and getting them off the streets and getting them out of this country because Joe Biden let the worst of the worst come in here. The other day I was talking to some marshals that have been partnering with ICE, they said that they had detained a cannibal and put him on a plane to take him home. And while they had him in his seat, he started to eat himself and they had to get him off and get him medical attention. These are the kind of deranged individuals that are on our streets in America that we're trying to target and get out of our country because they are so deranged they don't belong here."

25. (SOUNDBITE)(English) PROTESTER FROM OTTER CLAN, MICCOSUKEE, KAILANI, SAYING:

“I live four miles away from where Alligator Alcatraz is happening. I think it's important for me to be here because I want my voice to be heard. I am someone in the crowd. I'm sure not everyone is going to notice me, but I know that me being here, I'm making a difference myself. I want my kids to look up to me when they get older and be like, 'My mom fought for my land'.”

26. VARIOUS OF PROTESTERS CHANTING “THE PEOPLE UNITED, WILL NEVER BE DIVIDED”

27. (SOUNDBITE)(English)PROTESTER, RICHARD (NO LAST NAME GIVEN), SAYING:

“Concentration camps are wrong. It's wrong to imprison people without giving them due process. And it's in the Fifth Amendment, it's in the 14th Amendment, it's a right that every person on the planet has, along with a freedom of speech. I'm concerned we may lose our freedom of speech soon. And so I'm here using mine to stand up against a lot of the president, because that's what America is about."
