An Iranian military spokesman said in a released video on Wednesday (March 25) the United States is negotiating with itself, a day after U.S. President Donald Trump said Tehran wants to make a deal to end the war in the Middle East.

Zolfaqari added that Iran will never come to terms with U.S., “neither now, nor ever,” in the video. He also said U.S. investments in the region and pre-war energy prices would not return until Washington accepts that regional stability is ensured by Iranian armed forces. (7166-IRAN-CRISIS/USA)

“Has the level of your internal discord reached the point where you are negotiating with yourselves? There will be neither any sign of your investments in the region, nor will you see previous energy and oil prices, until you understand this: stability in the region is guaranteed by the powerful hand of our armed forces. Stability comes through power. We state explicitly: Until such time as it is our will, no situation will return to its previous state. That will arise only when the very idea of taking action against the Iranian nation is completely erased from your corrupt minds.”

Residents of Tehran exercised in parks near the Milad Tower on Wednesday (March 25), maintaining daily routines nearly four weeks into the war between Iran and the United States and Israel.

But we have to move in a direction that is in the interest of our country. That is where we can say that there should be a ceasefire.”

Russia has not received any information from Iran about a reported U.S. 15-point plan and so Moscow cannot assess the reliability of the media reports, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday (March 15).

U.S. President Donald Trump said earlier this week that Tehran wanted a deal to end the Middle East war. A source told Reuters Washington had sent a 15‑point plan to Iran. (7226-IRAN-CRISIS/RUSSIA)

Iraq's National Security Council has authorized Iraq's umbrella group for Iran-backed Shi'ite militias to exercise the right of self-defense and respond to any attacks targeting their positions.

Iraqi military spokesman Sabah al-Numan said in a statement on Tuesday (March 24), that the foreign ministry would summon the U.S. and Iranian envoys to protest attacks on Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) locations in various provinces and the headquarters of Kurdish Peshmerga fighters in Erbil.

The move increases the risk that the PMF will retaliate, potentially triggering a cycle of attacks and counter-attacks with the U.S. as regional conflict escalates. (7168-IRAN-CRISIS/IRAQ-MILITARY)

18. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) SPOKESMAN FOR THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF THE IRAQI ARMED FORCES, SABAH AL-NUMAN, SAYING (PLEASE NOTE: SHOT CHANGES THROUGHOUT SOUNDBITE):

“In light of the unjustified attacks and grave violations of Iraqi sovereignty, including the targeting of official security headquarters, the Council decided the following; firstly to confront and respond to military attacks carried out by military aircraft and drones targeting the headquarters and formations of the Popular Mobilization Forces Commission and other formations of our armed forces, using available means, in accordance with the right to respond and self-defense.”

Drones targeted a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, causing a fire but no casualties, Kuwait's Civil Aviation Authority said on Wednesday (March 25).

Emergency procedures were activated immediately, with firefighting teams responding to the blaze, it said, adding that initial reports indicated only material damage.

Eyewitness video showed fire burning and smoke rising filmed from a distance, in the direction of the fuel tank at the airport.

Reuters was able to confirm the location of the footage from bridges, business signages, buildings and road layout which matched with file and satellite images.
