X067-REINO UNIDO REINA CUENTA ATAQUE SEXUAL JOVEN
During a discussion broadcast on British radio on Wednesday (December 31), Queen Camilla described for the first time her experience of physical assault as a teenager, recounting how furious she was about the incident.
The queen made the comments during a BBC Radio 4 discussion on violence against women that also included former British Prime Minister Theresa May and BBC sports commentator John Hunt, whose wife and two daughters were killed by one of his daughter's ex-partners.
Camilla, 78, has for many years championed charities and causes that seek to end sexual and domestic violence and to support victims.
The assault was first reported in September, when a book about the royal family was serialised in the Times newspaper, but had not previously been confirmed by Buckingham Palace.
The book said the incident happened on a train to London's Paddington Station when Camilla was about 16 or 17 years old.

1. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BRITAIN’S QUEEN, CAMILLA, SAYING: (INCLUDES MULTIPLE ANGLES AND CUTAWAYS)
“I remember something that's been lurking in the back of my brain for a very long time, that when I was a teenager I was attacked on a train, and I’d sort of forgotten about it. But I remember at the time being so angry. It was anger, and I thought 'why is this?' Well, it was a sort of boy... an old man (now), probably not a great deal older than me, but… and I think…”
(REPORTER OFF-CAMERA: “Attacked in what way?”)
“On a train.”
(REPORTER OFF-CAMERA: “You were on a train, and someone you didn't know...")
“Somebody I didn't know, I was reading my book and you know this boy - man - attacked me and I did fight back, and I got of (the train). I remember getting off the train and my mother looking at me and saying 'why is your hair standing on end? Why is a button missing from your coat?”
(REPORTER OFF-CAMERA: “Oh gosh, so it was physical?”)
“I had been attacked, but I remember anger, and I was so furious about it. And it sort of lurked for many years. And I think, you know, when the subject about domestic abuse came up and suddenly you hear a story like John and Amy’s it all... you know, it's something that I feel very strongly about.”
