3. VARIOUS OF SIGN READING (English/French): "Due to extreme heat, the Musee du Louvre will closing at 4:00 p.m."
4. PEOPLE QUEUING TO ENTER JUST BEFORE EARLY CLOSING
5. (SOUNDBITE) (English) STUDENT ORIGINALLY FROM UKRAINE, YULIIA KONOTOPOVA, SAYING:
"I think it doesn't give people much time to visit and explore because there's so many places to see and so many pictures to visit and the heat kills you, and you cannot really enjoy it as you would enjoy it on any other day. I think people planned their trips months before and I think the Louvre closing, less time working as usual and people didn't plan (for) it at all. I think it's not very convenient and not expected at all."
6. TOURISTS TAKING PHOTOS IN FRONT OF EMPTY QUEUES
7. (SOUNDBITE) (English) STUDENT ORIGINALLY FROM UKRAINE, YULIIA KONOTOPOVA, SAYING:
"And they're closing it at a very not good time. So it closes at four, so I think even if you are doing it due to the heat, you would rather close it like before like 12 for example and (stay) closed until five (p.m.) and then open it again so people can visit it in the evening when it's not that hot outside."
8. (SOUNDBITE) (English) TOURISTS FROM THE U.S., ADRIENNE METTE SAYING:
"A lot of things got shut down so it was really disappointing. It's my first time ever on the European continent, it's my first time in Paris, and we were supposed to go to Saint-Chapelle, and we were supposed to go to the towers of Notre-Dame this afternoon, and we got notified that it was closed. We were lucky that I had booked tickets for 11:30 today for the Louvre because they're closing at four (p.m.)"
9. TOURIST POSING IN LOUVRE COURTYARD
10. (SOUNDBITE) (English) TOURISTS FROM THE U.S., TANYA THOMPSON, SAYING:
"And the last entry was at two (p.m.) so so many people who had travelled from around the world aren't getting the chance to see the sights that Paris has to offer because of this heatwave. And it's dangerously hot."

14. (SOUNDBITE) (French) MINISTER FOR ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION AND BIODIVERSITY, MONIQUE BARBUT, SAYING:
"When it comes to combating climate change and specifically heatwaves, there is no single formula that works; rather, a range of actions must be implemented. It will be necessary to shift to a massive-scale plan, because what we are experiencing today, we know that by 2050, the frequency of these heatwaves could be five times higher than it is today."
