New French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu said on Wednesday (September 10) that his new government will need to be creative and talk with opposition parties, adding that there may need to be a change in policies as well.
Lecornu, President Emmanuel Macron's fifth prime minister in less than two years, takes office amid nationwide "Block Everything" protests and two days after a fractious National Assembly voted to oust his predecessor Francois Bayrou's government over disagreements on budget cuts.
"There must be changes - not just in terms of form or method, but in substance," he said at the handover ceremony.

In short, this is what we are obviously tasked with."
