X062-REINO UNIDO DEBATE EN EL PARLAMENTO
British lawmakers erupted on Wednesday (June 3) as leader of the Reform UK party Nigel Farage spoke in parliament.
The murder of student Henry Nowak last year has dominated headlines in Britain since the sentencing of his Sikh killer on Monday (June 1), with the footage of officers ignoring a dying innocent man sparking a political storm about how police treat different ethnicities.
As Farage started speaking in parliament on Wednesday about violent protests that took place in Southampton on Tuesday (June 2), other lawmakers erupted in a chorus of words, some saying 'inciter' and 'condemn it'.
Farage had previously called for "pure cold rage" over Nowak's murder in a statement posted on Tuesday and said it was an example of the rights of ethnic minorities trumping those of white British people. Lawmakers accused Farage of inciting the violent protest.
Nowak's family called his treatment by police "inhumane and degrading" but said after the sentencing that his death should not be "used to create further division, hatred or tension."

“The anger that you saw spilling out in Southampton last night… (LAWMAKERS ERUPTING, SOME POINTING AT FARAGE AND SAYING ‘INCITER’, 'SHAME ON YOU' AND ‘CONDEMN IT’).. and which is in danger of getting considerably worse if the public lose trust in being treated fairly by the police."
2. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BRITISH PRIME MINISTER, KEIR STARMER, SAYING:
“My response, and the response of others, to be fair, has been focused on the lessons to be learned so we can deliver justice. His response has been to appeal for rage. Rage. That's his response (CUTAWAY OF FARAGE LISTENING) to a father who's lost his son and asked for that not to happen. Exploiting this tragedy to create grievance and division would be wrong in any circumstances, but to do it when the family are expressly saying, please don't, is unforgivable. It shows exactly who he is.”
