Russia's defence ministry said on Wednesday (September 3) that its troops had captured 'about half' of the city of Kupiansk in Ukraine's Kharkiv region.

The ministry released a drone video showing individuals holding a Russian flags while standing in various sites.

Reuters was able to confirm the video locations by surrounding building structures, road layouts as well as the greenery which matched file and satellite imagery of the area.

Reuters was not able to independently verify the date of the videos were filmed.

Reuters could not independently confirm the battlefield report.
