A Russian strike on a food warehouse near Kharkiv on Wednesday (July 30) killed one person and injured four, the regional governor said on Telegram.

Warehouse manager and engineer Serhii Molchaninov said that he was inspecting the roof of the warehouse when the strike happened.

After making his way down to the parking lot, he saw two of his co-workers receiving first aid for shrapnel injuries.

Kharkiv region governor Oleh Synehubov said on Telegram that 100 firefighters have been deployed to the site of the strike.

"There was an explosion wave, it threw me away. I then came to my senses, I was still on the roof (of the warehouse). The roof is made of soft material, and I hit my head on the roof, I bounced off it as if it was a cushion."

"I came here and saw the ambulance. One of our female employees stood here, her hand was injured and she was all covered in blood. I asked her and she said glass shards injured her. Next to her was a security guard who found himself inside the very warehouse when it was hit. He was in shock, a piece of shrapnel hit him in the torso and went through his clothes. He was slightly injured."
