Thousands of heavy metal fans lined the streets of Birmingham on Wednesday (July 30) to bid farewell to Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne during a funeral procession that marked the musician’s final trip.
Fans applauded as band performing Black Sabbath classic “Iron Man” led the cortege that moved down Broad Street in the music star's home city.
Sharon Osbourne, wife of the late singer, was tearful as she laid the floral tribute flanked by her children Jack and Kelly.
Osbourne died on July 22, a little over two weeks after enthralling thousands of fans in an emotional farewell gig in Birmingham featuring dozens of other performances including by Metallica, Guns N' Roses and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler in a day-long heavy metal extravaganza.
