"As of today, 1,943 people have been counted among the dead. The number of injured has reached 10,571. So far, we have 15,866 people left homeless. Fourteen shelters have already been opened in La Guaira state, and 55 shelters are operating across Caracas, Miranda and other affected states."

"When I pulled out nine people, it was with my bare hands only, and I am not a rescuer, I am not a firefighter, I am not a paramedic, I am none of that. So I pull people out from here, I pull people out from above, I pull people out from over there on the first and second day, by the third day until now I haven't been able to pull anyone out alive, but my faith is still intact that I am going to get my family out and I am going to get the people we need to get out and we are going to keep at it."

A Los Angeles search and rescue team, known as LA USA-2, a 71-member team with six canine units, according to local media, continued searching for survivors in the Venezuelan coastal town of Carabella, footage released by the U.S. State Department showed on June 30.
