Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday (September 17) arrived in a Tel Aviv courtroom to testify in his own corruption trial, a day after Israel unleashed a long-threatened ground assault on Gaza City.

Reporters in the room asked him about "Qatar Gate", an investigation into possible ties between his aides and Qatar, but Netanyahu smiled and said "Qatar fake".

Netanyahu is on trial over a separate series of corruption charges, which he denies.
