Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy arrived in Cyprus on Wednesday (January 7), his spokesperson said, and is due to meet the Cypriot president and EU officials.

Cyprus assumed the rotating presidency of the European Union in the beginning of 2026.

Zelenskiy will attend an event marking the start of the Cypriot presidency in the capital Nicosia alongside EU officials, including EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
