Police and firefighters responded to reports of an explosion at Silver Lake Nursing Home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday (December 23).

Musuline Watson who works at the nursing home said she and other workers smelled gas in the facility over the weekend. She was concerned that coworkers were not answering her calls.

"It's like a big family in there," she said.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said that Pennsylvania State Police and Pennsylvania Emergency Management had offered their full support following the incident.

"And then when I came (as she was arriving for her work shift), I saw all the, all the emergency vehicles coming in and they blocked us so I went around. And I said, 'Let me walk.' And then the explosion came on. There was a loud explosion. And they told all of us to get back. And that's how I came back." (REPORTER OFF-CAMERA ASKS ABOUT COWORKERS/ WATSON SAYS) "I've coworkers in there. I am calling them and they're not answering. I tried to get through but, you know, the (police) officers said, 'No, no.' I can't get past them because it would still be dangerous."

REPORTER OFF-CAMERA SAYS: "I heard from someone that workers have been smelling gas in there?"

WATSON: "Yes, on, on the weekend, we did smell gas. But because there was no heat in the room, we didn't take it to be anything. Yeah, I worked this weekend. I worked Saturday. I worked Sunday. I worked Friday."

REPORTER OFF-CAMERA SAYS: "What is it like to hear that people are trapped?"

WATSON: "It's devastating. It's so devastating. And we all, it's like a big family in there. Oh Lord!"

REPORTER OFF-CAMERA SAYS: "It's a vulnerable population."

WATSON: "Yes! There's some that don't even have no home to go to."
