U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday (April 7) he has agreed "to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks."

Trump said he spoke to leaders in Pakistan, which has been a mediator between Washington and Tehran and which had sought a two-week ceasefire in the Iran war.

Iranian state TV announced on Wednesday (April 8) that the United States has “suffered an undeniable, historic, and crushing defeat”, after U.S. President Donald Trump said he had agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran.
