STORY: Former President Jair Bolsonaro joined supporters in a motorcycle rally on Tuesday (July 29) in the capital Brasilia.

The former president, who is banned from using social media and is wearing an ankle bracelet by order of Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, led a motorcade followed by hundreds of motorcyclists. He did not make a speech.

Bolsonaro has not given interviews and claims he cannot speak to the press after a decision by Moraes.

Justice Moraes, who oversees the case in which Bolsonaro is charged with plotting a coup, has kept in place the restraining orders he imposed on the former president and clarified Bolsonaro is not forbidden from giving interviews.

Last week, the justice threatened Bolsonaro with arrest, saying he breached the restrictions on his social media use - including through third parties - when he talked to journalists in Brasilia.

Brazil's Supreme Court decided on Thursday (July 24) not to order the arrest of former President Jair Bolsonaro calling it an "isolated" breach of court-imposed restrictions, but warned he could be imprisoned for future violations.
