Kiev, Ucrania

Russia launched an intense missile and drone barrage at the Ukrainian capital Kyiv in the early hours of Friday (June 6) and three people were killed, Ukrainian officials said, as powerful explosions reverberated across the country.

State Emergency Service of Ukraine released video showing rescuers and paramedics carrying away injured on stretchers and loading them into ambulances.

Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video from the buildings, greenery and road layout that matched satellite and file imagery of the area.

Reuters was able to verify the date of the video through its own corroborating reporting and official statements confirming the attacks on Kyiv on Friday (June 6).

Kyiv's military administration said three people were killed in the missile and drone salvo against the capital. They were first responders who had rushed to the scene of one of the strikes, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said 49 people nationwide had been injured in the attacks, which also struck several other towns and cities as well as Kyiv.
