Iran's President, Masoud Pezeshkian, on Friday (June 13) said the country will 'make Israel regret its foolish act,' in response to a series of Israeli attacks overnight.

Israel said it targeted Iran's nuclear facilities, ballistic missile factories and military commanders at the start of what it warned would be a prolonged operation to prevent Tehran from building an atomic weapon.

Tehran has promised a harsh response and said it will respond decisively to any aggression.

"(Iran) will take firm action in legitimate defence of the country’s territorial integrity," Pezeshkian said.
