Thousands of Yemenis gathered in Sanaa on Friday (July 11) to express solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

Rallies held in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza have been held weekly in the Yemeni capital.

Since the start of the war in Gaza in October 2023, the Iran-aligned Houthis have fired at Israel and at shipping in the Red Sea, disrupting global trade, in what it says are acts of solidarity with the Palestinians.

"We are here today to show support the blessed operations of our armed forces, our drones and our naval forces in targeting ships that are trying to break the siege on reaching Israeli ports, and to whom we say that they will not reach the ports except by completely lifting the siege on Gaza and stopping the aggression."

"Today, we came to this place, the field of strong and steadfastness, to support people in Palestine. And from this place, from this important place, we send the enemies of the good, America and Israel, a big message and we tell TO them that Palestine is our cause and we will continue our (movement) against you until you stop the criminal war and aggression in Gaza and we advise you to stay away, to not dealing with the Jewish entity because our operation at the Red Sea are continue until you stop the war and your ships under our missile forces target."
