Israeli settlers set fire to homes and vehicles on Friday (July 24), in Jet village in the Israeli occupied West Bank city of Nablus, villagers said.

A video obtained by Reuters, shows men, some of them wearing masks, throwing objects in a field, while a Palestinian man calls for help, saying "people save us, the village of Jet is being burned by the settlers."

Reuters was able to confirm the location from the road layout, buildings and terrain which matched archive and satellite imagery of the area. The date was confirmed from Reuters reporting.

Reuters reached out to the Israeli military about the attack who said they are investigating it.

A temporary closure was imposed on the city of Nablus and the Tal area, while Israeli troops set up roadblocks, the military said.

Around 700,000 Israeli settlers live among 3.4 million Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem — territories Israel captured from Jordan in the 1967 war, which Palestinians seek for a future state.

A U.N. inquiry released last month found that Israeli authorities were directly involved in settler attacks that have killed, injured, and displaced Palestinians in the West Bank.
