"Many people and rescue teams arrived to clear away the debris. (Journalist: Did you see any dead people?) Yes, there was a body here. As reported, four people were killed. There's a 24-hour shop at the bus stop. A woman worked there, but I don't know... I want to confirm whether she might have been killed too. The hit was directly there. (Journalist: Did you see exactly where it was hit?)
"I understood that it was hit in the centre of the road, where there is a bus stop "Zavodska Street". There are shops here by the main road. The market is there too. The rescuers immediately cordoned off the area, so we weren't allowed to go there."

Russian drone strikes hit Odesa overnight, injuring five people including a child, the regional governor said.
Emergency services published footage showing firefighters battling flames after the attack set residential buildings and vehicles ablaze. Reuters was not able to independently verify the location or the date when the footage was filmed. (3774-UKRAINE-CRISIS/ATTACK-ODESA)

Authorities say at least 31 people are confirmed to have been killed in a Russian missile attack on Ukraine’s Ternopil according to Ukraine's State Emergency Service. At least five children were among the dead, according to officials. The strike on Ternopil, some 370 km (240 miles) west of the capital Kyiv, was a relatively rare large-scale assault on the west of the country, which is far from the front lines and considered safer than central and eastern parts of Ukraine. The Russian Defence Ministry published on Friday (November 21) a video showing its troops in Ukraine's Kupiansk. In the released footage, Russian servicemen in Kupiansk claimed that the town has been seized by the Russian army. Reuters confirmed the location of the video by matching building layouts, infrastructure and roads to file and satellite imagery. The date of the video could not be verified. Russia said late on Thursday (November 20) that it had taken control of Kupiansk, a large town that straddles the Oskil, but Ukraine denied it had fallen.(3878-UKRAINE-CRISIS-KUPIANSK)

The European Union will continue backing Ukraine as it faces Russian aggression, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Friday (November 21), at the G20 summit in South Africa. She said EU sanctions on Moscow are taking a toll, citing high inflation, rising interest rates and an overheated war economy in Russia.(3817-UKRAINE-CRISIS-G20-COSTA)

28. (SOUNDBITE) (English) EU COMMISSION'S PRESIDENT, URSULA VON DER LEYEN, SAYING:
"Slowly but surely the figures are showing that the sanctions are biting. And why not in one go? Because the sanctions often also reply to the circumventions of loopholes. So you put a sanction, there appears a loophole, you close the loophole, etc. It's a process that is ongoing. And the pressure on Russia here is ongoing. We will continue to support Ukraine, as we've done before. Ukraine can count on us, because this is not only an aggression against Ukraine, but it is an aggression against the principles of the UN Charter. It's on European soil, and therefore we will support Ukraine for as long as it takes. "
The Kremlin said on Friday (November 21) that Russia had not yet received anything official from the United States about a 28-point U.S. peace plan for Ukraine, but it was ready to negotiate.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russian battlefield advances were shrinking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's options. Continuing the war was "pointless and dangerous" for Ukraine, Peskov said. "The (Ukrainian) regime must make a responsible decision. Do it now and assume responsibility." (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) KREMLIN SPOKESMAN, DMITRY PESKOV, SAYING:
"The effective work of the Russian armed forces should convince Zelenskiy and his regime that it is better to negotiate and do so now. It's better to do this right now, rather than later. His room for decision-making is shrinking as he loses territory during the offensive actions of the Russian armed forces. It is not about the war, it is about forcing Zelenskiy and his regime to a peaceful settlement. Continuing (the war) is pointless and dangerous for them. The (Ukrainian) regime must make a responsible decision. Do it now and assume responsibility."
