V064-ITALIA FUNERAL DE VALENTINO
The coffin of fashion designer Valentino Garavani arrived at the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels and Martyrs on Friday (January 23).
Figures from the fashion world, including Condé Nast Global Chief Content Officer Anna Wintour and Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace, along with figures from film and entertainment world and Rome citizens, gathered at the basilica to pay their final respects to the fashion designer.
Valentino, who died on Monday (January 19) at the age of 93, scaled the heights of haute couture, creating one of the country's most celebrated luxury houses and introducing a new colour to the fashion world, the so-called 'Valentino Red'.
After the funeral, the coffin will then be taken to the Flaminio Cemetery, in the north of Rome, for burial.
