STORY: President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Friday (December 12) that he visited the frontline town of Kupiansk in eastern Ukraine, adding that military achievements would help Kyiv's diplomatic efforts.
"Today, it is extremely important to achieve results on the front lines so that Ukraine can achieve results in diplomacy," Zelenskiy, wearing a bulletproof vest, said in a video showing him in front of the name of the city at its entrance.
Reuters confirmed the location as Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, Ukraine from the buildings, petrol station, road layout seen in the video which matched satellite and file imagery of the area. The exact date when the video was filmed could not be independently verified.
