V045-UCRANIA ATAQUE RUSO EN JARKOV
Two Russian missile strikes hit a multi-story building in Kharkiv in north-eastern Ukraine on Friday (January 2) and injured at least 15 people, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said on Telegram. Surveying the scene, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said there were "no military objects" in the area. Local resident Liudmyla Ishchenko, 61, rushed to check on her apartment, which she bought a year ago and had begun to renovate. “Of course, I had hoped for peace,” she told reporters while standing in her shattered apartment.
