Israeli military troops patrol the border with Lebanon on Friday (April 3) as a sand storm envelops the region.

Thousands of people have been killed across the Middle East since February 28, when the U.S. and Israel began air strikes on Iran, triggering Iranian attacks on Israel, U.S. bases and the Gulf states, while opening a new front in Lebanon.

Israel launched a full-scale air and ground campaign in Lebanon after Hezbollah fired into Israel on March 2 in solidarity with Iran after the U.S. and Israel began their war on Tehran.
