Prince Harry made his first public appearance since returning to Britain last month, attending the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards in London on Thursday (September 17).

The Duke of Sussex arrived at Greenwich University for a meet-and-greet with guests and supporters of the Invictus movement, which he founded in 2014 for wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans.

Harry greeted attendees, posed for photographs and spent time with competitors and award recipients ahead of the ceremony.

As he left the event, he did not respond to a question about a forthcoming book by his maternal uncle, Earl Charles Spencer.

The appearance comes weeks after Harry, his wife Meghan, and their two children returned to live in Britain, more than six years after stepping back from royal duties and relocating to the United States.

Harry's return has drawn renewed attention to his relationship with the royal family, particularly as Buckingham Palace has stressed that he and Meghan are not working royals and should be regarded as private citizens pursuing charitable and commercial interests.

The Invictus Spirit Awards celebrate individuals whose resilience and achievements reflect the values of the Invictus Games community.
