STORY: U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday (November 13) signed an executive order, alongside First Lady Melania Trump, aimed at strengthening resources and support for children in foster care.

Introducing her husband, Melania Trump said the president had “prioritized America’s foster care children.”

Trump said the order would help young people transition successfully out of the foster care system and called the initiative a coordinated effort between federal agencies and the First Lady’s office.

He also linked the measure to existing education and tax credit programs, saying, “The new initiative we're establishing will also create an opportunity for foster youth to take full responsibility of the Federal Tax Credit Scholarship program established by the One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Trump thanked Melania for her work and said the administration would ensure foster children “will never, ever be forgotten.”
