V006-EEUU MAMDANI JURA SU CARGO OFICIALMENTE
In one of his first acts as New York City mayor, Zohran Mamdani signed an executive order on Thursday (January 1) to revoke all orders issued by his predecessor Eric Adams after his September 2024 indictment.
Mamdani's order, which takes effect immediately, preserves earlier policies unless they are later revoked, revised or superseded, and leaves emergency executive orders in place.
In September 2024, Adams was hit with a five-count indictment charging him with accepting travel perks from Turkish officials and political donations from foreigners in exchange for taking actions to benefit Turkey. The charges were later permanently dismissed by a judge in February 2025.
Mamdani also signed a series of executive orders aimed at tackling housing affordability and strengthening tenant protections on his first day in office.
