Firefighters were working to put out a fire at a building in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv following Russian air strikes, Kyiv authorities said on Friday (September 11).

Video released by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv region on Friday showed a huge blaze raging at the building, with firefighters deployed to contain it. The location or date of the video could not be verified. No older version of the video was found posted online before September 11.

Authorities in the Ukrainian capital said on Telegram that Russian air strikes injured eight and caused a fire in a nine-storey apartment building on Friday morning.

Russia returned to its near-constant air attacks on Kyiv this week after a brief halt during the visit to Moscow and Kyiv of U.S. President Donald Trump's negotiators seeking to end the war which the Kremlin started by invading Ukraine in 2022.
