STORY: A team of rescuers from the Egyptian Red Crescent stepped into action on Saturday (May 31) after heavy rain hit the coastal city of Alexandria.

A video posted on social media by the organization, showed the team using a car to pull out a vehicle from a flooded tunnel and rescuing an injured bird.

The location was confirmed by the buildings, bridge and road layout seen in the video which matched file and satellite imagery of the area. The date was verified by the local media reports of the storm in the area.

A storm swept through Egypt’s norther governorate with heavy rain and strong wind causing widespread damage and emergency services deploying in several locations, local media report.
