STORY: Britain's King Charles made a visit to the Royal Regiment of Artillery in Salisbury, England on Friday (June 6), meeting some of the personnel from the unit colloquially known as 'The Gunners'.

After speaking with several soldiers, King Charles helped fire a cannon and acquainted himself with some of the military equipment.

It was Charles' first visit to the unit after assuming the title of Captain General of the regiment and becoming its ceremonial head.

In Wadebridge, Charles' eldest son Prince William attended the Royal Cornwall Show where he sampled a glass of gin.

Prince William, who is the Duke of Cornwall, is a patron of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association (RCAA), the charity which organises the three-day show.

He was accompanied to the show by his Aunt Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.
