San Juan (Puerto Rico)

STORY: Fans of Bad Bunny celebrated as the Latin music superstar kicked off his residency in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Friday (July 11).

Fans were holding Puerto Rican flags, danced, and sang the hits of the island's superstar outside the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot.

Bad Bunny’s 30-show run makes him the first artist ever to headline a residency of this scale at the 18,000-seat venue, according to local media.

"Bad Bunny is really making history with this event," said Alicia Couret, who came with her 17-year-old son.

Fan Gabriel Acevedo said Bad Bunny's decision to have a residency in Puerto Rico showed "the 'care' and the love he feels for the island."

"He is the Puerto Rican number one," he added.

The first three weeks of Bad Bunny's "No me quiero ir de aquí" (translation: "I do not want to leave here") residency are reserved for Puerto Rican residents before opening to tourists.
