STORY: Eyewitness video released on Saturday (February 28) showed the moment of a strike near a U.S. base in Bahrain.

Reuters confirmed the location as Manama, Bahrain, from the road layout, buildings, electric tower and light posts, which matched satellite imagery. The date when the video was filmed could not be independently verified.

Bahrain confirmed an attack inside its territory and said a service center of the U.S. Fifth Fleet had been struck. No earlier version of the video was found posted online before Saturday.

The United States and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday, targeting its top leaders and calling for the overthrow of its government, while Iran responded with missiles fired at Israel and neighbouring Gulf countries.
