President Donald Trump told reporters on Friday (March 13) that U.S. and Israeli objectives in the Iran war might be a little different.

Trump also announced that the U.S. Navy would "soon" begin escorting tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial oil shipping route, but offered no specific timeline.

When asked how long the war might last, Trump declined to estimate, stating, "It'll be as long as it's necessary... the whole thing is collapsing."
