A 15-year-old survived for about two days atop a capsized boat in Alaska's Bering Sea before being rescued, while two companions were found dead, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

According to a relative interviewed by The Associated Press, the skiff capsized on the night of September 5 after the group, which included the survivor's older brother and cousin, set out on a fishing trip far out at sea.

A Coast Guard aircrew located the overturned vessel on the morning of September 7 and dropped survival equipment before a nearby vessel rescued the teenager, who was suffering from hypothermia, and recovered the two deceased.

The location and date of the footage were verified through original file metadata. The U.S. Coast Guard said one survivor was rescued and two deceased were recovered from the water on September 7 after the vessel capsized in the Bering Sea.
