S009-GAZA PALESTINOS SOBRE PLAN PAZ

04 de octubre 2025 - 17:22

Displaced Palestinian Shereen Kharoub, currently sheltering in a tent in Khan Younis, voiced frustration on Saturday (October 4) over repeated displacement and expressed hope for a ceasefire, nearly a day after U.S. President Donald Trump called on Israel to halt its bombing campaign in Gaza.

Kharoub, a 51-year-old mother of five who has been raising her children alone since her husband's death in 2006, said she has been forced to flee multiple times, most recently from Gaza City. She stressed the urgent need for peace and stability, emphasizing the desire for a chance to lead a normal life.

Israeli airstrikes continued early Saturday, though they appeared less intense compared to previous days. At least 66 Palestinians were killed across Gaza in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said.

Israel began its offensive after the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack that killed about 1,200 people and saw 251 hostages taken to Gaza, according to Israeli figures. Israel says 48 hostages remain, with 20 confirmed alive.

The Gaza health ministry reports that more than 67,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the enclave since Israel's campaign began.

“I wish this really comes to effect, not like every time, we hear of ceasefire then it doesn’t happen, and we live on false hope. We don’t want false promises, this is enough. Our children are gone, our life is gone, our homes are gone, everything is gone, this is enough. We want a ceasefire for real on the ground, for real, I wish they would hasten it.”

“My message to Mr. (U.S. President Donald) Trump to pressure Israel for a ceasefire. He is feeling for us and aware of our situation. This is enough, displacement, no food, no stability and no life. He sees us, certainly he sees us and feels for us. (I wish) he keeps pressuring Israel because he can pressure Israel in this issue because he is capable and we are sure that he is capable.”

It was a normal life, like other human living a normal life, waking up early, who went to school, went, who went to work, went, who handled housework, did, but now there’s nothing. We wake up to fill in water, to queue for the soup kitchen, to bake.”
