S008-RUSIA PUTIN VISITA NUEVO CENTRO ESPACIAL
STORY: Russian President Vladimir Putin took part on Saturday (September 13) in the opening of the National Space Centre, created in Moscow.
The inauguration took place as part of celebrations for Moscow Day, a city wide holiday.
The opening of the National Space Centre was also attended by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin ,first Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and the head of the Russian Space Agency Roscosmos Dmitry Bakanov who gave Putin a tour of the new centre.
According to the Kremlin, the construction of the National Space Centre has been underway since 2019 and has become a joint project of the Moscow Government and Roscosmos.
The National Space Centre will unite key organizations of the rocket and space industry - the central office and situation centre of Roscosmos, industry research institutes, design bureaus and enterprises.
