S008-GAZA CAMION ALIMENTOS CIVILES
STORY: Crowds of Palestinians surrounded aid trucks in Khan Younis on Saturday (October 11) as humanitarian supplies moved through the southern city under a newly implemented ceasefire agreement.
According to witnesses, the trucks had entered the enclave before the ceasefire was announced, carrying essential supplies including food.
The distribution drew chaotic scenes as desperate residents jostled to collect supplies, with some expressing frustration over the unorganized delivery method.
Many residents called for a more structured distribution system, with some requesting whether international agencies like UNRWA can handle the handover to ensure supplies reach those most in need rather than the current chaotic manner.
According to the ceasefire agreement, humanitarian aid will be ramped up into Gaza, and permitted to travel freely between north and south Gaza on the two main roads.
According to an Israeli security official the trucks will carry mostly food, medical equipment, shelter equipment, fuel and cooking gas. Equipment needed to fix damaged infrastructure such as water lines, sewage and bakeries will also be allowed in.
