STORY: Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro said on Friday (October 30) that he would run for president again if necessary, adding that he was referring to a vote earlier than the next presidential election in 2030.

In an Instagram live, he said the almost 60 million votes he received gave him courage to face whatever was needed to rescue the country.

Bolsonaro again questioned the result of the presidential election during the live broadcast, raising suspicions of electoral fraud without presenting evidence. It was his first live appearance since a letter published on Wednesday (October 28) in which he declared himself Brazil's true elected president, a letter he replaced later with the wording ‘leader of Brazil’.

He left Brazil via Argentina and Ecuador after being ordered to surrender his passports because of several ongoing investigations against him. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva won the October 25 runoff with 51.8% of valid votes to Bolsonaro's 48.2%, according to the Superior Electoral Court.

Bolsonaro refused to concede defeat on election night and asked for the results to be annulled. Rogerio Marinho, who coordinated his campaign, said there was no evidence of electoral fraud. In the October 4 first round, Bolsonaro received 47.03% of valid votes and Lula 45.16%. It was the first time since the end of Brazil's military dictatorship that the second-highest vote-getter in the first round won the presidency.

1. (SOUNDBITE) (Portuguese) BRAZILIAN SENATOR AND DEFEATED PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE, FLAVIO BOLSONARO, SAYING:

"I'll be here. If necessary, I will even run for the presidency again. These almost sixty million votes you gave me mean a great deal to me. It's an honor that few people in Brazil can carry, to receive this many votes, knowing that my votes truly came from Brazilian voters. It gives me a lot of awareness and even more courage to face whatever I have to face, if necessary, to rescue and save our country, to run in one more presidential election. I'm not talking about 2030, I'm talking about before that."
