S006-PARAGUAY CAMPEONATO GLOBOS AEROSTATICOS

STORY: Colourful hot air balloons have been seen dotting the sky in Paraguay's southwestern city of Yguazu since Thursday (August 28), as the South American nation hosts, for the first time, a world championship with pilots from around 20 countries.

The championship kicked off in the early hours of Thursday to take advantage of favourable wind conditions and will run until Sunday (August 31).

Over 30 pilots are competing in the event organized by South Korean pilot Steve Kim.

Top pilots are competing in Paraguay, including Japan’s Mamoru Endo, Australia’s Peter Dutneall, and Brazil’s Warley Macedo, according to Paraguayan media.
