STORY: Mexico City residents brought groceries and medical supplies to a large donation tent set up in the capital's Zócalo square on Friday (February 20) as part of a week-long campaign to send humanitarian aid to Cuba.

Volunteers unloaded donations from wheelbarrows, unpacked, sorted, and repacked items, including cans of tuna, cooking oil, and basic medicines.

Israel Breton, a member of the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, said the organization has so far collected ten tons of aid. The seven-day collection drive began on Saturday, Feb. 14, and will run through Sunday, Feb. 22.

Mexico has promised to assist the island after halting oil exports due to Washington's threat of tariffs on countries that provide fuel to Cuba.
