A Russian missile strike killed at least seven people, including two children, in Ukraine's city of Kharkiv, according to regional governor on Saturday (March 7).

The governor, Oleh Syniehubov, said on the Telegram messaging app that the missile damaged a five-storey residential building in one of the districts of Kharkiv.

Rescue workers were seen conducting search operation at collapsed building and extinguishing fire at the site.

"The enemy (Russia) launched missile and drone strikes on Kharkiv tonight. One of the strikes hit the city's Kyiv district. A five-storey residential building was hit directly. The building's entrance was destroyed from first to fifth floors of residential five-storey building. Apartments on the fourth and fifth floors were also damaged."
