S004-IRAN ATAQUE SOBRE AEROPUERTO TEHERAN
STORY: Burning fires and smoke plumes were observed in the direction of Tehran's Mehrabad Airport, in eyewitness footage released on Saturday (March 7), as the expanding war in Iran entered its second week amid renewed uncertainty about how or when hostilities will end.
Reuters was able to verify the location of the footage from buildings, building shape, road layout, parking area, and signages which matched with satellite and file images. The date of the footage could not be verified, but no older version of the footage was found posted online before March 7.
NASA FIRMS detected thermal activity in Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport at 1:50 a.m. on March 7 local time(10:20 p.m. GMT, March 6) and Iran’s semi-official news agency Tasnim reported that heavy air attacks hit Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport on March 7.
There was no immediate comment from Iran's Revolutionary Guard or Hezbollah.
