U.S. President Donald Trump and senior administration officials attended the rescheduled White House Correspondents' Association awards dinner in Washington on Friday (July 24) alongside journalists.

Among those present were Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.

During the ceremony, Secret Service officer Victor Gonzales received the President’s Award for Exceptional Service from Trump. The event also recognised journalists for their reporting and public service, with Washington Post reporter Josh Dawsey receiving the Aldo Beckman Award, while Associated Press White House reporter Zeke Miller and CNN’s Kaitlan Collins were among other honourees.

Awards were also presented to teams and photojournalists for investigative and accountability reporting. Journalists from The Wall Street Journal received the Katharine Graham Award for Courage and Accountability, while KARE-11 in Minneapolis won the Collier Prize for State Government Accountability. Veteran photojournalists Susan Walsh and Melissa Young accepted the Dunnigan-Payne Prize for lifetime achievement in photojournalism.
