Firefighters battled wildfires in Southern California on Friday (October 16), as strong Santa Ana winds fueled blazes across the region, forcing evacuations and leaving tens of thousands without power.

Aerial footage from Orange County showed houses engulfed in flames as firefighters sprayed water on burning structures.

Red Flag Warnings remained in effect for parts of Southern California through Saturday (October 17) evening, with the National Weather Service forecasting winds of 25 to 45 mph in parts of the Santa Monica and San Gabriel mountains.
