S004-CHINA FUJIAN SE PREPARA ANTE LA LLEGADA DEL TIFON BAVI
STORY: As Typhoon Bavi, the ninth typhoon of the year, approaches, over 10,000 fishing boats in Lianjiang County, southeast China's Fujian Province have returned to port for shelter. All maritime passenger routes in the county have also been suspended, and over 1,800 workers from offshore aquaculture farms have been evacuated to shore.
In Fuzhou City, authorities are making comprehensive preparations. The city's landscaping department has deployed 300 workers and 44 emergency teams to trim trees and remove hazardous branches along key roads, reducing the risk of falling trees during high winds.
Reservoirs, including Dengyun Reservoir, have released water in advance to create flood storage capacity, with 24-hour monitoring in place. Drainage stations are on high alert, with staff closely tracking water levels and equipment readiness.
Meanwhile, the Fuzhou Fire Rescue Bureau has activated its emergency response mechanism. Equipment and rescue gear have been fully inspected to ensure readiness for any flood-related emergencies. Authorities across the city are coordinating efforts to minimize the impact of the approaching typhoon.
