Los Ángeles (EEUU)

STORY: Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman was honored on Friday (August 22) with a hand and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, joining a tradition that celebrates a line up of the film industry’s most influential stars.

Oldman, 67, pressed his hands and shoes into wet cement outside the landmark theater, a symbolic tribute that places him alongside entertainment industry legends from Marilyn Monroe to rapper Ice Cube.

“People think of Hollywood, they think of the stars on the Boulevard and they think of the hands and the feet and the signatures in the cement," Oldman said at the ceremony.

The hand and footprint ceremonies at the TCL Chinese Theatre began in 1927 and remain one of Hollywood’s most enduring honors. Oldman was delighted that his friends and family could watch the ceremony.

“I think today, having the friends and the family here, I think it was really moving for them. I think it meant a lot to them,” he said.
